PopMatters Debuts Brand New American Babies Video

"With its tug-at-heartstrings twang and frontman Tom Hamilton’s melancholy vocals, American Babies’ “Goddamn” is a sentimental rocker to drown your sorrows in. And yet, as the track from American Babies’ 2013 album Knives & Teeth attests to, there’s some solace to be found in giving voice to those under-your-breath mutterings that know too much about hopes slipping away and regretful regrets.”

"Goddamn is the first track on the second side of the new album "Knives and Teeth". You can check out the brand new video in the Videos section of our page or click here to read the PopMatters article.

Slip Bassist Marc Friedman To Join American Babies

We are excited to announce that Slip/Surprise Me Mr. Davis bassist Marc Friedman will start touring with the band next month.

From Tom: “After platooning the bassist position for the last year, we are happy to say that we found ourselves a steady buddy to fill out the rhythm section. Starting on Feb. 1, The Babies and I will be welcoming Marc Friedman from The Slip as our new Captain of the Low End. As many of you already know, Marc is one of the most talented musicians our scene has known and we are all extremely excited to see where the music goes from here. Catch ya out there!”

Final Night of the American Babies Brooklyn Bowl Residency on 10/21

Well folks, here we are the final night of our residency. It sure went quick and has been a lot of fun so far. We’re viewing this final night as a celebration of our new album, “Knives and Teeth” as well as a send off party as we head out on tour for the next 5 weeks. This will be our last show in the Northeast for a bit and we’re gonna close this thing out right!

This week’s musical theme is PINK FLOYD, and we will also be playing all of the tracks from “Knives and Teeth”, as well as some favorite BP tunes. To help us bring this party to a close, we will have Clay Parnell from Brothers Past and Steve Molitz from Particle stopping in to add some bass and keys, respectively. We’ve also sent out the invite to our past guests, so we have a feeling we’ll have a few more friends stop through to help out as well.

Starting the night off at 8pm will be the band Hollis Brown and the Babies hit at 9pm.
